About Barry CampbellBarry Campbell is a senior information technology consultant, with over 18 years of experience as a technical communicator, proposal manager and business process analyst. Barry has written technical documentation, training, and marketing materials; managed the development of new business proposals and RFP responses; performed user requirements analysis for web sites, products and processes; and prepared and delivered presentations targeted to all levels of management. In his current role as Chief Technical Writer at Column Technologies, Barry works primarily in the areas of Proposal Management and Business Process Improvement; Barry has also held senior staff positions at Capgemini and Summit Systems (now Misys Banking), and as an independent consultant his clients have included IBM and GlaxoSmithKline (formerly GlaxoWellcome.) Barry is a PRINCE2 (PRojects IN Controlled Environments) Registered Practitioner, and also holds ITIL Foundation certification. He is an active member of several professional organizations, including the IT Service Management Forum and the Project Management Institute, and writes about IT service management, technical writing, training and related topics at Knowledge Work. He enjoys using his analytical and communications skills, combined with his many years of IT experience, to work with subject matter experts, evaluate new technologies, and explain them to non-technical audiences in the business world.
